NORMALCY BIAS: Up until the day Putin attacked Ukraine, most of the Ukrainian people believed the very idea was "fear mongering." Almost no one believed an aggressive attack was about to be waged and that their own (corrupt) govt was about to be toppled.

Consider that in America, too, most people are clueless about bad events yet to come. Debt bomb implosion, food scarcity, power grid failure... they haven't considered the REALITY of where things are headed. They are oblivious and unprepared.
