I've had blood clots, swollen limbs, take blood thinners -- a leg with a blood clot swells up and HURTS like a SPRAINED ANKLE -- except you KNOW you've not been hiking or doing a darn thing. If you are lucky it does not also become Pulmonary Embolism -- chest blood clot which can kill or go to your brain -- stroke, etc.
I usually get blood clots in my legs about every two years, even with RX
