Like the Pharma industry, the Church is very corrupt, as we are seeing with the Pope and Vatican, but it is also true of 90% of churches in the US actually worship Satan, often without even knowing it.
It is very well explained in this video of Mark Taylor who has a very mature faith in Christ. He has helped me understand my reticence regarding this.
