grayswandir Because it’s Memorial Day weekend.People don’t join the service to kill people.They join because they feel it’s the right thing to do to help the country they love or a myriad of other reasons.My father served because his family was starving to death and he was the oldest boy.He joined at 16 , lying about his age, and was flying in Europe at 17. He fed his mother, 2 brothers and a sister on his measly paycheck because he loved them and his father was a drunk. It’s a memorial to them
