Our relationship to God:
Someone posited the thought that perhaps “we are Jesus”?
And, some else added, “whenever you fed one of these, the least of my brethren, you fed me”.
Scripture conveys the thought that Jesus is the “head” of a body. The head is a real, living person in Heaven, while the body is both in Heaven and on Earth (Theme of Colossians).
One must be very careful in stating thoughts here…..as cults are formed by misunderstanding Bible truth on this matter. Gnosticism is one.
Christians who have died are referred to as the “church triumphant” while Christians who remain on Earth are called the “church militant”.
When we die our souls go to be with the Lord, but until then, our souls have an earthly “tabernacle”…..the body. The body is merely a vehicle. When you get into a car…..you do not become that car, but if you have a cool car? Maybe you identify with that car more than you should? Such is the way us pretty people confuse our “selves” with our bodies.
