Here is an Elm “live edge” table that raises and lowers for my son who teaches violin….nice for sitting or standing.
The guitar is quarter sawn Sycamore, a plain Jane wood unless it is cut “inside out”, the Germans say “Spiegel schnitten”,

Local guitar makers bought our wood til the Vax took them out
