I don’t really like Lester’s take…
Hebrews 11 says faith involves “evidence” and “substance”…..the Holy Spirit produces faith (Romans 10:17), and trust is earned. A “blind leap” is exactly what faith is not. Eternal security is a Bible doctrine, because faith is assurance, not double minded
(unstable).
I believe he is referring to a deeper stronger faith where we actually get out of the boat like Peter did. The kind of faith we need when GOD takes us into deeper waters. I don’t see his quote as being contrary to Hebrews or Romans. Have you not had a time in your life where to took a leap of faith (not a blind leap) where you were not sure how it would work out (the unknown) but trusted that GOD had you? Many times we think in terms of A,B,C, but more times the answers are D (all of the above). So do I believe there are levels of faith, I do, it’s all through scripture. Be blessed today brother!
