German parliament has voted to take on hundreds of billions euros of new government debt, to ease the debt brake rules, and to codify "climate neutrality by 2045" into the constitution.

A two-thirds majority was required: 513 voted in favor, 207 against. The AfD parliamentary group voted against the law proposed by the CDU and SPD parties.
