I say this as a longtime food scientist, focusing on food contamination, heavy metals, herbicides, pesticides, adulteration, and so on. Here it is: Do NOT put any weight into any study or person who claims that any food, supplement or substance tests “positive” for anything. The use of the term “positive” is meaningless in food contamination science because it says nothing about the concentration found. Literally EVERY FOOD in the grocery story tests “positive” for glyphosate, lead, aluminum, cadmium, arsenic, etc., if you have a sensitive enough mass spec instrument. You will find at least one atom or one molecule of almost every contaminant in almost everything. This does NOT mean that food item is toxic or dangerous. This use of the claim “tested positive” is used by people to cause irrational panic and alarm over foods, supplements or even in some cases vaccines where we’re seen absurd claims like “57 undeclared chemicals found” which it was really just super low trace levels of elements, not chemicals.
